Exercise 2 - Khoi Tran

My attempt to reproduce Theo van Doesburg's Contra-Construction project.  As you can read from the description, this work is inspired by an original architecture draft by Theo's friend.  Theo then took out the functional design elements in attempt to create a mixture between painting and architecture.

As I delved into how to recreate his work, the limitless sense of space and time is what inspiring to me the most.  And that's the reason why I choose to present the reproduction as a collection of spontaneous appearance of different elements.  I think it would convey the original message of Theo in a modern way.

It's also interesting to view the work in Firefox. In this view, the composition is pushed further towards the flat pane: the complimentary common between architecture and painting, according to Theo and no longer provides a clear sense of space. However, careful attention to this view does gives ways to different interpretation
